Law

Saying the government is the ultimate authority for creating laws is like saying a child learned how to speak perfect English on its own and teach an English class. We all know that that is impossible because there would have to be someone that the child would learn the language from. The government just doesn't come up with laws and ideas but they borrow them from a previous source that is the ultimate moral law, the Bible. In the Bible, God put in the guidelines to live a life that does not sin against God and the laws or moral absolutes that He made. Most laws in today's society are borrowed ideas from the Bible, even if the law is made in rebellion to a moral absolute it still deals with the moral law that has previous been in place. As Christians we are suppose to pray for the governing authorities (I Timothy 2:1-2), conduct ourselves as law-abiding, taxpaying citizens (Romans 13:1-7), give to the government all that it's due (Matthew 22:21), and honor those in authority and the institutions of government (Romans 13:1-7, I Peter 2:17). We can't get away from the fact that governments are authorities we are suppose to submit to. Although if the government contradicts the Bible and makes a law that would cause us to sin we are suppose to not abide by the law. Peter in Acts 5:29 says that “We must obey God rather than human beings". God is the ultimate authority that is above earthly governments. Christians are also suppose to abide by the rules of earthly governments as long as it does not go against Gods word.
